Data & API Terms

These terms govern programmatic access to Investo data through the Investo Data API (api.investo.ng and investo.ng/api/v1) and any API keys we issue. They apply in addition to our Terms of Service, which are incorporated by reference; if the two conflict for API use, these terms win. The operator is One Digital NG (RC 1859275), Lagos, Nigeria.

Subject to your tier and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to call the API and use the returned data within your own organisation and products — for analysis, internal tools, and applications you operate. Your tier's rate limits, endpoint access, and pricing are stated on the developer page or in your order form; the order form wins where they differ.

An Investo subscription is not a redistribution licence for raw exchange data. Market data reaching you through the API originates with the Nigerian Exchange and other providers and remains subject to their licences. Unless a written agreement with us says otherwise, you must not:

• resell, sublicense, or redistribute the data, raw or bulk, to third parties;
• publicly display live or delayed raw market data as a data product of your own;
• use the API to build or populate a competing NGX market-data service;
• share API keys outside your organisation or between products.

Display and redistribution use cases are real and licensable — they are the Institutional tier conversation, not a default right. Derived, transformed outputs of your own analysis (your models, your charts of your conclusions) are yours.

• Keys are personal to your organisation. Only a hash of your key is stored; keep the key itself secret and rotate it if you suspect exposure.
• Rate limits are enforced per key. Sustained abuse, limit evasion, or scraping around the API leads to suspension.
• Transient caching to serve your own application is fine. Building a permanent mirror of the raw feed is redistribution, and section 3 applies.

Some endpoints return AI-generated analysis: verdicts, fair values, conviction levels, signals. Everything our Terms of Service say about AI-generated content applies over the API too: model outputs, not predictions or advice; different assumptions can produce materially different results. If you surface these fields to your own users, you are responsible for presenting them as research, not recommendations.

Paid tiers are billed monthly by invoice during early access. Invoices are payable within 14 days; we may suspend access for non-payment after notice. Founding-customer rates are locked for 12 months from your first invoice. Fees exclude any applicable taxes.

The API is provided "as is" during early access, without a contractual SLA. We publish coverage and freshness honestly at investo.ng/coverage and will give reasonable notice of breaking changes through the developer page or by email. Institutional agreements can include committed support and notice terms.

Free-tier use that displays Investo data publicly must carry the attribution "Data: Investo — investo.ng". Paid internal use needs no attribution.

You can stop at any time; paid tiers end at the close of the billed period. We may suspend or terminate keys that breach these terms, with notice where practicable. On termination you must stop calling the API and delete raw data held outside the transient caching allowed above; your own derived analysis survives.

The liability, indemnity, governing-law, and change provisions of the Terms of Service apply to API use unchanged: Nigerian law, Lagos courts, and material changes announced before they take effect.
